The Fitting pop-up menu in the Element Image Options dialog determines how an image will be sized when it is placed into an Element Image Frame during the page composition process.
Fitting options
There are six fitting options to choose from:
- None
- Fit Frame to Content
- Fit Content to Frame
- Fit Content Proportionally
- Fill Frame Proportionally
- Fit Content then Frame Proportionally
Suppose you have an Element Image Frame in your template that is 80 pixels by 112 pixels. The image that you want to place into it is 96 pixels by 96 pixels.

The image will be placed at 100% and the Element Image Frame will not be resized, so the image may be cropped.

Fit Frame to Content
The image will be placed at 100% and the Element Image Frame will be resized to fit the dimensions of the image.

Fit Content to Frame
The image will be resized to fit within the Element Image Frame, so it may appear distorted if the proportions of the image differ from those of the frame.

Fit Content Proportionally
The image will be resized proportionally to fit within the Element Image Frame, so a part of the frame may appear empty if the proportions of the image differ from those of the frame.

Fill Frame Proportionally
The image will be expanded to fill the Element Image Frame. This option keeps the original image proportions and crops the portion of the image that does not fit.

Fit Content then Frame Proportionally
