For diagnostic purposes, Typefi Writer includes an option that turns on logging for certain Writer features. These logs can be helpful for support staff who are troubleshooting problems.
Turn troubleshooting logging on or off
Troubleshooting logging is turned off by default. We recommend that you only turn on troubleshooting logging when specifically requested by support staff to prevent potential performance issues.
Turn off troubleshooting logging after you complete your troubleshooting. If you don’t turn off troubleshooting logging, the log file continues to increase in size.
To turn troubleshooting logging on:
- In the Typefi tab, within the Writer group, click Options.
- In the Typefi Writer Options dialogue, click Advanced.
- Under Troubleshooting, select Enable troubleshooting logging.
- Click OK.
To turn troubleshooting logging off, deselect Enable troubleshooting logging.

The troubleshooting log file is in plain text, and all passwords are scrubbed from the log.
Access the troubleshooting log
To access the troubleshooting log:
- Open the Windows File Explorer.
- Go to
Documents\Typefi\Writer
. - Open
TroubleshootingLog.txt
.
To send the troubleshooting log to your Solutions Consultant, please send TroubleshootingLog.txt
as an attachment in your support request.
