This article will help you prepare for a Typefi Cloud Teams upgrade. Upgrades are scheduled in advance and managed for all Typefi Cloud Teams organisations, with notifications sent to your tech rep two weeks before each upgrade.
Typefi Cloud Teams upgrade schedule
Typefi Cloud Teams upgrades are scheduled for the following dates:
- 16 February 2025
- 18 May 2025
- 17 August 2025
- 16 November 2025
InDesign and InDesign Server compatibility
Typefi Cloud Teams supports Adobe InDesign and InDesign Server releases on a rolling two major version schedule, with a 90-day transition period before discontinuing support for a previous version.
Starting from 16 February 2025, the supported InDesign and InDesign Server versions are:
- InDesign and InDesign Server 2025 (v20)
- InDesign and InDesign Server 2024 (v19.0.1 or later)

Check your InDesign Server version
Before upgrading, verify which version of InDesign Server is used in your workflows.
- Sign in to cloud.typefi.net
- Navigate to Files.
- Open a workflow

- Locate an InDesign workflow action (for example, Create InDesign document).
- In the General view, check the InDesign Server field. It will display one of the following versions:

prod-2024-math
prod-2023-math
If the InDesign Server field displays prod-2023-math:
- Upgrade to InDesign 2024 (v19.0.1) or InDesign 2025 (v20) before 1 May 2025, after which support for InDesign Server 2023 (v18) will be discontinued.
If the InDesign Server field displays prod-2024-math:
- No immediate action is required. InDesign Server 2024 is supported.
- (Optional) Upgrade to InDesign 2025 (v20). After upgrading, update the InDesign Server field in your workflow actions to
prod-2025
.
Upgrade Adobe InDesign
- Download and install the latest version of Adobe InDesign from the Creative Cloud app.
- (Optional): Keep the previous version of InDesign installed until 1 May 2025. This allows you to roll back to a compatible version if needed.
- After the transition period ends, you can safely remove the older version.
Update your workflows
After installing the latest version of InDesign, update the InDesign Server field in your workflow actions to match the installed version. For example, if you installed InDesign 2025, update the InDesign Server field to prod-2025
.
- Sign in to cloud.typefi.net.
- Navigate to Files.
- Open a workflow

- Locate an InDesign workflow action (for example, Create InDesign document).
- In the General view, open the drop-down menu next to the InDesign Server field.
- Select the option that matches the installed version of InDesign:
- Select
prod-2024-math
if you installed InDesign 2024 (v 19.0.1 or later) - Select
prod-2025
if you installed InDesign 2025 (20.x)
- Select
- Repeat this process for all workflows.
Verify and update integrations
After upgrading, ensure that all Typefi and third-party integrations remain compatible. Check and update the following:
Typefi Designer
- Download and install the latest version of Typefi Designer. For installation instructions, see Install Typefi Designer. For a list of compatible versions, see Typefi Designer compatibility with Adobe InDesign.
- Install Typefi Designer. For installation instructions, see Install Typefi Designer.
movemen MathTools (and other third-party software)
- Verify your third-party software version: Check your MathTools version or other third-party software version and confirm with your Solution's Consultant that it's correct. If it's not, they'll guide you on the appropriate version to install. For more details, see Licensing movemen MathTools with Typefi.
- Upgrade movemen MathTools (if needed): movemen MathTools is a subscription product. To upgrade to a newer version of MathTools for InDesign, follow the instructions in this article.
Licensing
If you are licensing MathTools for the first time, licenses are only issued after Typefi has received payment. It may take up to 10 business days to receive a license. For more information, see Install and license movemen MathTools.
Microsoft Word add-ins (if needed)
- Update Typefi Writer: Download and install a compatible version of Typefi Writer. For installation instructions, see Install Typefi Writer.

Update custom DOTM files:
- Contact your Solutions Consultant to ensure everything is up-to-date. They will assist in replacing outdated DOTM files with the latest versions—ensuring your integrations are compatible with the latest Typefi Server version.
- Alternatively, you can follow the instructions in Missing customizations in Office word after an update.
- Ensure your other Microsoft Word add-ins, for example MathType, are up to date. For details on the latest version and updating instructions, see the MathType website.
