Before you can start creating and editing equations with MathTools, you need to enable MathTools in InDesign:
- First, make sure you have a license for MathTools: In the InDesign menu bar, verify that the last option in the Math menu is not "(READER)" or "Invalid License" (this text will be greyed out).
- If you do not see "(READER)" or "Invalid License" as the last item in the Math menu, then from the InDesign menu bar, select Math → Enable Math for Current Document. If you do see "(READER)" or "Invalid License", then your license is not activated. For instructions for how to activate a license, see Activate license.
That's it! MathTools is enabled in your InDesign file. Next, check out how to create a MathZone.
