Typefi Desktop v8.13 is the final version compatible with macOS, and subsequent updates to Typefi Desktop will not support macOS.
Your computer must meet the minimum technical specifications outlined in this article to run and use Typefi Server for Desktop (Typefi Desktop) 8.13:
System requirements
Typefi supports Adobe InDesign releases on a rolling, three major version schedule*, meaning Typefi Desktop now supports InDesign 2024 (v19.0.1 or later), InDesign 2023 (18.x), and InDesign 2022 (17.x).
- 64-bit editions of Windows 11 v21H2 or Windows 10 (v20H2, v21H1, or v21H2); or macOS Ventura (v13), Monterey (v12), or Big Sur (v11)
- OpenJDK 11 (see Switching to OpenJDK)
- Apache Tomcat 9 (Apache Tomcat v9.0.31 is bundled with our installers for Windows)
- Requires Adobe InDesign plug-in version 40 or later
- Additional InDesign requirements for the current and earlier releases
*If you want to manually update your Typefi bundled Tomcat service (v9.0.31) to the latest stable and secure Tomcat 9 release, please visit the help article, Update Apache Tomcat for Typefi Server, for instructions.
Is Typefi Desktop 8.13 compatible with Apple Silicon?
Typefi Desktop 8.13 is only compatible with Apple silicon-based systems using Rosetta 2 emulation. While an Apple ARM64-compatible build of OpenJDK 16 exists, Typefi Desktop 8.13 requires OpenJDK 11, which does not natively support Apple ARM64-based systems.
