Some Typefi products support Apple devices with Apple Silicon M1 processors:
|Typefi Designer||Typefi Designer 8.7.2 or later|
|Typefi AutoFit||Typefi AutoFit 8.7.2 or later|
|Typefitter||Typefitter 5.0.1 or later|
Typefi Server 8.7x and Typefi Server 8.8 are only compatible with Apple silicon-based systems using Rosetta 2 emulation. While an Apple ARM64-compatible build of OpenJDK 16 exists, Typefi Server 8.7.x and Typefi Server 8.8 require OpenJDK 11, which does not natively support Apple ARM64-based systems.
Rosetta 2 is an emulator built into macOS Big Sur (version 11) that allows apps built for Intel chips to run on Apple devices with M1 processors.
Apps may initially take longer to open while Rosetta 2 translates them for use on your M1 computer.
To run an app using Rosetta 2 on an Apple M1 computer:
- Open Finder and navigate to the app you want to open.
- Control-click the app.
- Select Get Info.
- Select Open in Rosetta.
- Open the app as normal.
