Images missing from your output? This can happen if your Word document links to images instead of containing them. When you insert an image with Link to File, Word saves only the location of the image file, not the image itself. Typefi Cloud can't open files on your computer, so it can't include the image. Even if you select Preserve original links, Import DOCX keeps only the file's location, not the image, so linked images are still missing from the output.
Check for linked images
Open the document in Word, and click File → Info. If you see Edit Links to Files under Related Documents, your document contains linked files.
Embed linked images
To include the images in your output, break the links. Word then saves a copy of each image inside the document.
To break the links:
- Under Related Documents, click Edit Links to Files.
- In the Links dialog, check the Item field for each link:
- OK means Word can find the image.
- -- means Word can't find the image file. Fix these links before you continue.
- For each link that shows --:
- Select the link, and click Change Source.
- Select the image file, and click Open.
- Click Update Now. The Item field changes to OK.
- Select all the links.
- Click Break Link, and then click Yes.
- Save the document.
Run the workflow again, and your images appear in the output.
