Typefi Orion is a Word-based XML editorial tool designed for scholarly and technical publishing workflows. Built as a seamless replacement for Inera eXtyles®, Orion provides powerful automated editing capabilities, comprehensive citation and reference management, and native JATS XML export—all within the familiar Microsoft Word interface.
Orion and Server integration
Typefi Orion works with Typefi Server to provide a complete editorial and publishing solution:
- Typefi Orion for Microsoft Word is where editorial teams work—applying styles, running SmartReplace automation, managing citations, and exporting XML.
- Typefi Orion Compass (accessed through Typefi Server) is where administrators configure settings, manage publications, and set up SmartReplace rules.
- Typefi Server workflows can process Orion documents and integrate with your broader publishing automation.
System requirements
To use Typefi Orion, you need:
- Typefi Server v8.19 or later
- Typefi Orion for Word
- (Optional for Workgroup and Cloud): The Manage Configuration privilege.
