Install and activate your Typefi AutoFit Pro license

This article explains how to install and activate the Professional edition of Typefi AutoFit. To install the free version of AutoFit, please refer to the help article, Install Typefi AutoFit Free.

Typefi AutoFit Professional is available for the latest three major versions of Adobe InDesign.

Subscriptions are OS-agnostic; you can use the license on either macOS or Windows. AutoFit can also be activated on up to two computers used exclusively by the same person.

When you install Typefi AutoFit Professional, two components are added to Adobe InDesign:

• The AutoFit tool. Use the Typefi AutoFit tool to define parent-child relationships between objects so that when the 'parent’ object is moved or resized, its 'child' objects automatically adjust accordingly.
• The AutoFit panel. Use the Typefi AutoFit panel to create auto-sizing text frames. For example, if a figure caption is longer than its text frame, Typefi AutoFit automatically resizes the frame to fit the entire caption and eliminate any overset text.

Install and activate your Typefi AutoFit Pro license

To install and activate your Typefi AutoFit Pro license:

1. If you don't have an active AutoFit subscription, purchase an AutoFit Pro subscription from our website.
2. Run the AutoFit installer.
3. Open Adobe InDesign.
4. Open InDesign's About Plug-ins menu:
   • macOS: InDesign → About Plug-ins
   • Windows: Help → About-Plug-ins
5. Select Activate AutoFit. (About Plug-ins → Typefi → AutoFit → Activate AutoFit)
6. Enter the License ID and Password from your AutoFit email receipt (sent from mailer@fastspring.com).
7. Click OK. NOTE: If this doesn't work, take a screenshot of the AutoFit license window and send it to us.
   

Typefi AutoFit 8.17 and later are activated per user account. If you happen to have multiple versions of Adobe InDesign installed (for example, both InDesign 2024 and InDesign 2023), they will all be activated simultaneously.
