Element references in Typefi Writer

Element references are markers that link Typefi Elements to a specific location in the text. Element references, along with an Element variant's layout rules, are used during the automated page composition process to determine where the Element is best placed on the page.

For instance, a keyword note displayed in the margin of a publication that defines a keyword used in
the text might have its Element reference set just after the keyword is mentioned so that the margin
note lines up with the keyword during page composition.
