Typefi Workgroup 8.20 system requirements

Your computer must meet the minimum technical specifications outlined in this article to run and use Typefi Server for Workgroup (Typefi Workgroup) 8.20.

System requirements

Typefi Workgroup supports Adobe InDesign releases on a rolling, three major version schedule*, meaning Typefi Workgroup now supports Adobe InDesign Server 2026 (v21.3 or later)†, InDesign Server 2025 (v20), and InDesign Server 2024 (v19.0.1 or later).

†Adobe introduced critical bugs in both the December 2025 (v21.1) and January 2026 (v21.2) InDesign 2026 updates that break compatibility with InDesign Server 2026. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you wait for v21.3 (or later) before upgrading any Typefi workflows to InDesign Server 2026.   • Microsoft Windows Server 2025 and Windows Server 2022
    • Virtual environments: Ensure AVX2 CPU pass-through is enabled in your hypervisor settings (for example, VMware, Hyper-V
  • OpenJDK (The Microsoft Build of OpenJDK 21 is bundled with the installer), see Java™ Virtual Machines
  • Apache Tomcat 10.1.50 (bundled with the installer)
  • Requires Adobe InDesign plug-in version 45 or later
  • InDesign compatibility: 
    • Adobe InDesign 2026 (v21.3 or later), InDesign 2025 (v20), or InDesign 2024 (v19.0.1 or later) 
      • AVX2 support: Adobe InDesign 2026 (v21) requires a CPU with Advanced Vector Extensions 2 (AVX2) and SSE4.2. Note: You cannot install v21 on Intel 3rd Generation processors or older (pre-2014)

Is Typefi Workgroup 8.20 compatible with macOS?

No. Typefi Workgroup v8.20 is only compatible with Microsoft Windows operating systems (OS). Typefi Workgroup versions up to v8.13 are compatible with macOS.
