There are two components in a footnote: the in-text reference number and the footnote text at the bottom of the page.
When you publish a document with Typefi, Microsoft Word's built-in formatting options are replaced with the formatting specified in the Typefi-ready template (.indd). That's why footnotes in the Word document may look different than footnotes in the published document.
