Typefitter 5 system requirements

Typefitter annual subscriptions are available in three editions: Standard, Professional, and Server.

In addition to maintaining a Typefitter subscription that fits your typefitting needs, your computer must meet the minimum technical specifications outlined below to run and use Typefitter 5:

Adobe InDesign Support

Typefitter supports Adobe InDesign releases on a rolling, three-major version schedule, meaning Typefitter 5.14 now supports Adobe InDesign 2026 (v21.3 or later)*, InDesign 2025 (v20), and InDesign 2024 (v19.0.1 or later).

*Adobe introduced critical bugs in both the December 2025 (v21.1) and January 2026 (v21.2) InDesign 2026 updates that break compatibility with InDesign Server 2026. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you wait for the forthcoming v21.3 (or later) before upgrading any Typefi workflows to InDesign Server 2026. Typefitter 5.14

Released 03 March 2026

  • Operating system: 
    • Windows 11 (v23H2 or 24H2), or Windows 10 (v21H2 or 22H2)
    • macOS: Sequoia (15.x), Sonoma (v14), or Ventura (v13)
  • Hardware:
    • Typefitter 5.14 natively supports Mac computers with Apple silicon
    • AVX2 support: Adobe InDesign 2026 (v21) requires a CPU with Advanced Vector Extensions 2 (AVX2) and SSE4.2. You cannot install v21 on Intel 3rd Generation processors or older (pre-2014), or Mac Pro 2013 and older systems.
  • InDesign Server compatibility:
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2025 and Windows Server 2022.
    • Virtual environments: Ensure AVX2 CPU pass-through is enabled in your hypervisor settings (for example, VMware, Hyper-V).
  • InDesign compatibility: 
    • Adobe InDesign 2026 (v21.3 or later), InDesign 2025 (v20), or InDesign 2024 (v19.0.1 or later)

Typefitter 5.13

    • Typefitter 5.11 natively supports Mac computers with Apple silicon and Windows computers with Microsoft Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server 2019.

Typefitter 5.1.x
