Book Interchange Tag Suite (BITS) is a standardized markup for book content in the scientific, technology, engineering and math space. As an extension to JATS, it adds elements and attributes for describing the textual and graphical content of books and book components. It was developed and is maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information and National Library of Medicine. The Import/Export to BITS actions supports version 2.0 of the standard. Some custom configuration of this action may be required to match a given implementation of the BITS tag suite.
The latest version of the BITS plug-in is 1.0.10, released on 30 October 2019.
