Typefi Designer system requirements

Adobe InDesign compatibility: Typefi supports Adobe InDesign release on a rolling, three-major version schedule*, meaning Designer 8.22 now supports Adobe InDesign 2026 (v23.1 or later)†, InDesign 2025 (v20), or InDesign 2024 (v19.0.1 or later).

*For more information about our end-of-support policies, see Typefi product support lifecycle.

†Adobe introduced critical bugs in both the December 2025 (v21.1) and January 2026 (v21.2) InDesign 2026 updates that break compatibility with InDesign Server 2026. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you wait for v21.3 (or later) before upgrading any Typefi workflows to InDesign Server 2026. Typefi Designer 8.22

Released 03 March 2026

• 64-bit editions of Microsoft Windows 11 (v23H2 or 24H2), or Windows 10 (v21H2 or 22H2)
  • macOS: Sequoia (15.x), Sonoma (v14), or Ventura (v13)
    • AVX2 support: Adobe InDesign 2026 (v21) requires a CPU with Advanced Vector Extensions 2 (AVX2) and SSE4.2. You cannot install v21 on Intel 3rd Generation processors or older (pre-2014), or Mac Pro 2013 and older systems.
    • Designer 8.22 natively supports Mac computers with Apple silicon that use InDesign 2023 (v18 or later)
• InDesign Server compatibility:
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2025 and Windows Server 2022.
  • Virtual environments: Ensure AVX2 CPU pass-through is enabled in your hypervisor settings (for example, VMware, Hyper-V).
• InDesign compatibility: 
  • Adobe InDesign 2026 (v21.3 or later), InDesign 2025 (v20), or InDesign 2024 (v19.0.1 or later)

*Typefi Designer 8.7.3 only supports InDesign 16.3 or later. If you use InDesign 16.2 or earlier, you must use Typefi Designer 8.7.1 or earlier, otherwise InDesign will not open.

Typefi Designer 8.7.2

• Adobe InDesign 2021 16.3 or later. Note: Typefi Designer 8.7.2 only supports InDesign 16.3 or later. If you use InDesign 16.2 or earlier, you must use Typefi Designer 8.7.1 or earlier. If you do not use compatible Typefi Designer/InDesign versions, InDesign will not open.
