Customer Update: InDesign 2022 compatibility
At the Adobe MAX Creative Conference on 26 October 2021, Adobe simultaneously announced and released major updates to their Creative Cloud apps. One of the major themes across these releases was collaboration—we're very excited about exploring the new (private beta) online copy-editing capabilities with InDesign 2022.
But, before you run out to update InDesign to this latest release (17.0), please know that our engineering team is still working on Adobe InDesign 2022 compatibility updates.
If you update to InDesign 2022, you'll lose access to Typefi Designer, and any Typefi templates you edit in InDesign 2022 won't work in Typefi workflows.
If you or your organisation had enabled Creative Cloud auto-updates and it's removed InDesign 2021, don’t fret, you can re-install the previous version to restore compatibility with Typefi (and even control auto-updates for individual apps so you're not caught flat footed at Adobe MAX 2022). You can also install and keep multiple versions of any Creative Cloud app if you want to explore the new features while maintaining compatibility with third-party plug-ins like Typefi.
In January 2022, we expect to release new versions of Typefi Server and the InDesign workflow plug-in that support InDesign Server 2022. At the same time, we'll also release a Typefi Designer update that adds support for InDesign 2022.
Reminder and workaround
Please don't update to Adobe InDesign 2022 yet.
