Adobe InDesign and InDesign Server only support MathML through a third-party plug-in, movemen MathTools. MathTools provides native equation editor functionality—equations are expressed as fully editable text, not inline equations—and MathML import and export features.
For information about purchasing, installing, licensing, or updating MathTools, see this article.
Note: If you need to share a MathTools-enabled document with someone else that does not have MathTools, they need to download and install the free MathTools Reader plug-in or risk causing irreparable damage to your equations.
Do I need a specific MathTools version to work with Typefi?
Yes. You need the MathTools Enterprise edition Version 3 to work with Typefi and the latest versions of Adobe InDesign.
MathTools is available in two editions, MathTools Enterprise and MathTools Pro. Typefi requires the MathTools Enterprise edition. The MathTools Pro edition doesn't include the necessary scripting support for integration with Typefi workflows. However, if you need to edit equations in InDesign after Typefi's automated page composition process is complete, then you will need MathTools Pro and MathTools Enterprise.
You need MathTools V3 to be compatible with InDesign CC2018 or later.
