Typefi Writer is a ribbon add-in for Microsoft Word that makes it easy for you to create structured content for Typefi. It supports 32-bit versions of Microsoft Word 2013 or higher. For more detailed system requirements please review the information on this page.
1. Download the latest version of Typefi Writer
Our software is distributed via an FTP site at https://ftp.typefi.com. This site is accessible via a web browser or via a dedicated FTP client and uses the same credentials as our other systems. If you have been provided with credentials to access any of our systems, you will be able to log on and download our software.
The latest version of Typefi Writer is available within a folder called Typefi_Writer. This should be one of the first things you see when you log on to the FTP. Please download the installer to a convenient location for the next step of the installation.
Note: if you do not see the Typefi_Writer folder when you log in to the FTP, please reach out to your Solutions consultant.
2. Install Typefi Writer
The installation of Typefi Writer is quite straightforward: please double-click the installer and follow the steps.
3. Verify the installation
After the Typefi Writer installer has completed you should start Microsoft Word. A successful installation will show the Typefi tab in the Microsoft Word ribbon as in the screenshot below.
If the Typefi Writer installer has completed but the Typefi ribbon does not appear in Word, please follow the troubleshooting steps in this article.
